The first one was a coincidence. The second a warning. By the fifth, you stopped counting.

They don't come quickly. They don't sneak up cleverly either. They just keep coming – from basements, from sewers, from apartments where no one has turned on the light for weeks. For every one you fell, two more shuffle in. And while you and your fellow players are still fighting, the only thing you really need is running out: time.

Zombies don't go down with one hit – it takes several attempts. Worse yet: they constantly bring in reinforcements, mercilessly advancing the clock. Anyone who hesitates here doesn't lose the fight, but the race.
